Connect Your Bank Account

Everything you need to set up payouts on Shoal

How Payouts Work

Shoal uses Stripe to move funds safely from buyer payment to your bank account.

When your item sells, the money is held securely by Stripe.
After the buyer confirms delivery, your payout is triggered.
Funds arrive in your bank within 1 to 5 business days.
Shoal never sees your bank details. Stripe handles everything directly.

Understanding Bank Codes

Routing/Transit Numbers:
Bahamian banks do not use routing numbers like US banks. Stripe will instead ask for:

  • Your bank name (selected from Stripe dropdown)
  • Your account number
  • Your bank branch (if applicable)
  • SWIFT/BIC code (for international transfers)

Finding Your Account Number:

  • Check your bank statement (top right corner)
  • Look at your checkbook
  • Log into online banking
  • Call your bank customer service

Common Issues & Solutions

Make sure you are entering a BSD (Bahamian Dollar) checking or savings account. Some specialized or investment-only accounts may not work. Try your primary checking account.
Visit your bank branch with your ID to activate online banking. Most Bahamian banks offer it for free. You need online banking to verify your account with Stripe.
Bahamian bank routing numbers can vary in format. Contact your bank directly and ask for your ACH routing number or wire transfer routing number specifically for receiving deposits.
As a Bahamian resident, you do not have a US SSN. Look for the option that says I do not have a US tax ID or select your country as Bahamas. Stripe may ask for your NIB number instead.
First payouts can take 7 to 14 business days. After that, payouts typically arrive within 1 to 5 business days depending on your seller tier and bank processing times.
Stripe currently does not support Central Bank Digital Currency wallets. Use a traditional bank account for now.
