1. Eligibility to Sell

To sell on Shoal Marketplace you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be a legal resident of The Bahamas or authorized to do business here.
  • Have a valid government issued ID for identity verification.
  • Have a valid bank account for receiving payouts via Stripe.
  • Agree to all terms in this agreement.
  • Maintain an account in good standing.

2. Seller Fees and Payouts

Listing Fee

Creating listings on Shoal Marketplace is completely free. You pay nothing to list your items regardless of how many listings you have.

Commission Fee

When your item sells Shoal charges a commission of 10% of the final sale price including any shipping fees charged to the buyer.

Example:
Item sells for $100
Shoal fee: $10.00 (10%)
Your payout: $90.00
Payout Schedule

Funds are released to your Stripe account 1 to 2 business days after the buyer confirms successful delivery.

If buyer does not confirm delivery within 7 days of tracking showing delivered funds are released automatically.

Payout Method

All payouts are processed through Stripe. You must connect a valid Stripe account to receive payments. Bank transfers typically arrive within 1 to 3 business days depending on your bank.

3. Listing Requirements

Your listings must:

  • Accurately describe the item including condition defects and any damage.
  • Use your own real photos of the actual item being sold.
  • Not use stock photos or photos of a different item.
  • Include accurate pricing.
  • Specify correct category.
  • State your handling time clearly.
  • Include all relevant details a buyer needs to make an informed decision.

Your listings must NOT:

  • Misrepresent the item in any way.
  • Use photos stolen from other listings.
  • Advertise items you do not own or do not have in your possession.
  • Promise features or inclusions not present in the actual item.
  • Artificially inflate original price to make discount seem larger.

4. Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited on Shoal Marketplace:

  • 🌊 Illegal items of any kind.
  • 🌊 Weapons firearms and ammunition.
  • 🌊 Stolen goods.
  • 🌊 Counterfeit or replica products sold as genuine.
  • 🌊 Illegal drugs and substances.
  • 🌊 Adult content of any kind.
  • 🌊 Live animals.
  • 🌊 Items that infringe on intellectual property rights.
  • 🌊 Alcohol without proper licensing.
  • 🌊 Prescription medications.
  • 🌊 Personal data or private information.
  • 🌊 Pirated software or media.
  • 🌊 Hazardous materials.

Shoal reserves the right to remove any listing at any time without notice if it violates these guidelines or our community standards.

Repeated violations will result in permanent account suspension.

5. Shipping and Handling

Handling Time

You must ship orders within your stated handling time shown on your listing. Standard handling times are:

  • Same day (order before 12pm).
  • 1 business day.
  • 2 to 3 business days.
  • Up to 5 business days.
Shipping Carriers

You are responsible for choosing a reliable carrier. Recommended carriers in The Bahamas:

Bahamas Post, FedEx, UPS, DHL, Tropical Shipping, Bahamas Fast Ferry Cargo, ZNS Transport.

Tracking

You must provide a valid tracking number for all shipped orders. Tracking must be uploaded to the order in your dashboard within 24 hours of shipping.

Packaging

You are responsible for packaging items safely and appropriately. Items damaged due to inadequate packaging are your responsibility.

Local Pickup

You may offer local pickup as an option. All local pickups must be arranged through Shoal messaging for safety and documentation purposes.

6. Seller Responsibilities

As a seller on Shoal you agree to:

  • Respond to buyer messages within 48 hours.
  • Ship orders within your stated handling time.
  • Provide accurate tracking information.
  • Package items safely and securely.
  • Honor the price listed at time of purchase.
  • Cooperate fully with dispute resolution processes.
  • Maintain a positive seller rating.
  • Not conduct transactions outside of the Shoal platform to avoid fees or protections.

7. Dispute Resolution

If a buyer opens a dispute against your listing you must:

  • Respond within 3 business days.
  • Provide honest and complete information.
  • Upload any evidence supporting your position.
  • Cooperate with Shoal's review process.

Failure to respond within 3 days will result in an automatic refund to the buyer.

Shoal's decision in disputes is final. Repeated disputes may result in account suspension.

8. Seller Ratings and Reviews

Buyers may leave reviews after completing a purchase. You cannot:

  • Ask buyers to remove negative reviews.
  • Offer incentives for positive reviews.
  • Retaliate against buyers who leave honest negative reviews.
  • Create fake accounts to review yourself.

Shoal monitors review patterns and will suspend accounts engaging in review manipulation.

9. Account Suspension

Shoal reserves the right to suspend or permanently ban seller accounts for:

  • Selling prohibited items.
  • Multiple verified disputes.
  • Fraudulent activity.
  • Fake listings or photos.
  • Review manipulation.
  • Transactions conducted outside of the platform.
  • Violation of any terms in this agreement.

Suspended accounts forfeit any pending payouts if suspension is due to fraud or prohibited items.

10. Amendments

Shoal Marketplace reserves the right to update this agreement at any time. Sellers will be notified of significant changes via email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

By creating a listing on Shoal Marketplace you confirm that you have read understood and agree to this Seller Agreement.
